Focus today on my daily life environment with a short story about my neighborhood Sanyuanqiao or 三元桥 and my compound, Phoenix City or 凤凰城 (Feng Huang Cheng).

Sanyuanqiao is located in Chaoyang District, North East of Beijing. Public transports are well connected in this area with Subway Line 10, Airport Express Train (to go to the Airport in 30min) and several bus lines.

Traffic is calm Large area for bicycles

It is just 15min walk North of the famous Embassies’ quarter, Lianmanqiao. This is really convenient to use taxi to go anywhere thanks to the 3rd road ring: 15min to Sanlitun Area, 20min to Lama Temple or Gulou and even 35/40 min to my work office in far North West.

Access to my home from Subway area Local restaurants' street closed to Phoenix City

My compound, Phoenix City, contains everything that an expat should need to set up nicely in China. All services are available in the neighborhood: big supermarket (Carrefour), several restaurants, a bakery, foreigner grocery, a fitness club, big mall (Phoenix Galleria), local massages and even an outside swimming pool during summer time.

This is a place that I recommend to settle in China. This is safe, calm and the environment is really pleasurable. We are still far from the picture that we all see in the middle of locals in narrow hutongs. This is Modern China! ;)
