One of my friend, CAB is visiting me this week in Beijing. He lived during 6 months in Beijing 2 years ago and planned to visit his usual restaurants and bars during his time here. I followed him yesterday night to one of his favorite place and we went to “Cafe de la Poste”, famous french restaurant in town (first time for me after 2 months of Asian food :)).

The ‘Cafe de la Poste’ is a good place to go (closed to Lama Temple – Yonghe Gong) for remembering well known savors and familiar atmosphere. Everybody speak french or sort of french and menu contains some appetizing dishes (“chèvre chaud au romarin”, “tarte au bleu” or tartare steak).

I selected French salad with sausages as an appetizer and piece of beef with mushrooms sauce and sweet potatoes as main dish. We selected also a good bottle of red wine to complete our dinner. It was a bit expensive for a Beijinger dinner (20 euros per pers.) but it was good to be back in France for few hours.

Restaurant that lot of french are visiting to get their cheese fix. This is not high level cuisine but can be compared to an average Parisian restaurant.
